•FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I don't really think most people here would know about A:TLA, but if you want to bring it up, I would be down for discussing it. He knows it's a TV show thanks to Olive Penderghast so I don't think there's much else to be done, really. And if there's some reason you want to recognize his voice as Dante Basco, I'm cool with that too.
•BACKTAGGING: Definitely! I also tend to get a little distracted/misplace threads, so if there's ever something I've stopped tagging, just nudge me if you want to continue.
•AVOIDED TOPICS: I'm pretty uncomfortable when it comes to vampires drinking people's blood, and I'm generally uncomfortable being brought into plots involving sexual assault. If there's a specific reason why you need me/my character in it, just let me know well in advance so we can discuss it before I decide to get involved.
IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Zuko is probably about 5'6"ish, with shaggy black hair and looks ethnically Japanese even though he isn't because Japan doesn't actually exist in Avatar land. He has a pretty horrific burn scar over his left eye/cheek/ear, which means he doesn't have an eye brow on that side, and he basically just wears his series outfit around the Barge as far as I'm concerned, sometimes with his swords slung over his shoulder. He looks pretty physically fit for a teenager, but isn't heavily muscled at all, so basically more like a martial artist than a body builder.
•DEMEANOR: Zuko keeps to himself for the most part - with the exception of Iroh and Sokka plus like, three other people maybe - and generally seems quiet and maybe a little unapproachable due to constant grump. That said, when approached, he's actually pretty friendly and tries to be helpful, but is also kind of a derp and is actually a little Oscar the Grouch esque.
•ABILITIES: Zuko is a talented Firebender, and has been training with masters since he was very young. Although it took him longer to master the art then his sister, by the time the series starts, he's extremely talented, and grows even more so as the series progresses. Firebending at its simplest is the ability to create and control fire, although there are different styles and techniques, all of which are listed here. Zuko is capable of all the basic abilities, and most of the advanced techniques, most notably fire breathing, jet propulsion (while his abilities were enhanced by Sozin's Comet, it's unknown/assumed he's not capable of it normally) and fire augmentation. He's one of the only people in the series who can redirect lightning when hit with it, although he can't generate it himself. His Firebending abilities are dampened during times of solar eclipse or extreme cold (although cold can be overcome with focus), and if he loses his "inner fire" (drive), his powers will become weaker. Zuko is also a skilled hand to hand combatant and swordsman. He's strong enough to kick through metal chains, capable of holding his own against basically any foe - generally only resorting to Firebending when faced with another powerful bender - can jump great distances, an excellent climber, and is fast enough to run on walls. He's mastered the use of his twin Dao blades, and while he isn't as talented as Azula at strategy and academics, he's very intelligent and skilled at planning, and is also skilled at stealth and infiltration. He knows how to track people - having chased down the Avatar and his friends successfully on a number of occasions - and in general, knows how to take care of himself. That said, he's still as vulnerable as any other human teenager, and can be hurt and killed just as easily as someone without awesome fire powers.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Apart from the scar on his face (and there's potentially some tear duct damage there too, as that eye cries a little less than his normal one) and a similar burn scar on his chest from his last Agni Kai with Azula, he's very physically healthy.
•OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Can't think of anything, honestly. He's more like to overreact by apologizing a lot about his family history than throwing a temper tantrum because you're pointing out his dad doesn't love him.
